First Impressions

The John Tavares Foundation is a Shopify site that includes information about the Toronto Maple Leaf captain's charity, as well as a widget that made it possible to donate through the site. The original developers of the site reached out to me to ask if I could assist them with redesigning and developing the homepage hero section of the site. Due to inexperience in Shopify by the previous developers, they were very unsure of how and where to make these changes.

What I Had To Do

I had to first of all, learn Shopify. This platform had not yet been something that I have experience with and I was not expecting the learning curve that came with it. I was tasked with creating a video background section for the hero section of the site that would play clips of John Tavares at his charity events. This would be a big upgrade from the plain hero section that was existing before.

After a lot of effort in figuring out Shopify, I was able to create a new Hero Section for this site that featured the desired video playing in the background. The John Tavares Foundation as well as the past developers of the site were very happy with the outcome as it was exactly what they wanted. Similar to Halton Food For Thought's project, I had to develop this new section in a way that any new developers on the site would have no difficulties in making changes.
